Mobile Trailer Repair Services We Bring to You

A trailer problem can stop a load as fast as an engine failure. Our service trucks carry trailer parts and diagnostic tools, so most repairs happen in one visit.

Trailer air brake repair

Air brake defects are the top reason trailers fail inspection. We repair:

  • Brake chambers and ruptured diaphragms
  • Slack adjusters and pushrod stroke that is out of adjustment
  • Glad hand seals, air lines, and fittings with audible leaks
  • Spring brakes that won’t release
  • Relay and emergency valves

Trailer ABS light and ABS fault repair

Federal rules require ABS on air-braked trailers built on or after March 1, 1998. Those trailers also need an outside ABS warning lamp, per 49 CFR 393.55. The lamp should turn on at power-up, then go out. A lamp that stays on, or never lights, is a violation.

We plug into the ABS module and read the fault codes. The usual causes are a failed wheel speed sensor, a damaged tone ring, a bad modulator valve, or corroded wiring. ABS also needs constant power from the tractor. A trailer ABS light that acts up often traces back to a worn 7-way plug or a bad ground.

Landing gear repair

Bent legs, stripped gearboxes, and broken crank handles strand trailers at docks and drop yards. We repair and replace landing gear on location, including SAF-Holland and JOST units. If the trailer is loaded, we support it safely before we pull a leg.

Trailer light and electrical repair

Dead tail lamps, stop lamps, and marker lights get trailers stopped at scales. We trace shorts, replace corroded pigtails and 7-way sockets, and repair wiring harnesses. We swap burned-out lamps with LED units that hold up better on the road.

Trailer tire service

A flat or leaking trailer tire can put the whole rig out of service. We change trailer tires on-site, repair valve stems, and stock common trailer sizes. For truck breakdowns and tire failures on the tractor, see our 24/7 roadside truck repair service.

DOT Out-of-Service Trailer Repairs

A trailer placed out of service can’t move until the repairs are done. Federal rule 49 CFR 396.9 bans operating it, except by crane or hoist tow. That makes mobile repair the fastest way off the scale lot.

These defects commonly put trailers out of service under the CVSA Out-of-Service Criteria:

DefectWhy it mattersFixed on-site?
20% or more of service brakes defectivePlaces the vehicle out of serviceYes
Audible air leak at a brake chamberCounts as a defective brakeYes
Brake stroke beyond the adjustment limitCounts toward the 20% ruleYes
Flat tire or audible tire leakOut of service on the spotYes
Missing tail or stop lamps on the last trailerCan be out of service, mostly at nightYes
ABS lamp on or not workingA violation, but not out of serviceYes

After the repair, you get a written invoice listing each defect and fix. Carriers must certify repairs and return the inspection report within 15 days. Our invoice gives your safety team the proof it needs.
